The series of fused glass is an attempt to seal living matter in glass. The experiment represents a new approach to creating art glass. Dry red roses, carnations and palm leaves are placed between two colored flat sheets of construction glass and fused at 950 degrees Centigrade. When it is submerged, the oxygen is released, which creates strange relief shapes and inflates the top layer of glass. The dried flower turns into carbon and seals in clear outlines. This technique I call vitrographic.
